TypeByte ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what we do not do with it.

What We Collect

When you join our waitlist, we collect:

• First name — so we can address you personally
• Email address — to notify you when TypeByte launches
• Occupation and experience level — to better understand our audience (optional)
• Interested plan — to understand which tier resonates with you (optional)

What We Do Not Collect

TypeByte is built on a privacy-first principle:

• We never store what you type. Text you type or rewrite in the keyboard goes directly to the AI model and nowhere else.
• No message logs. We do not store, read, or retain any of your messages, rewrites, or voice recordings on our servers.
• No keystroke logging. We have no access to what you type in any app.
• Stats stay local. Your usage statistics live in on-device storage only.

How We Use Your Information

We use your email and name solely to:

• Send you a notification when TypeByte is available for early access
• Communicate important updates about the product

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Storage

Waitlist data is stored securely using Supabase, a hosted database provider. Your data is stored in accordance with their security and privacy standards.

Third-Party AI Processing

When you use TypeByte's rewrite or voice dictation features, the text you submit and the audio you record are sent to OpenAI, L.L.C. for processing (to generate the rewritten text or transcription). This content is not stored on our servers or shared with any other third party. We do sync your display name, writing-style preferences, and anonymized usage counts to your TypeByte account for personalization — this data does not include your message content or recordings. Please refer to OpenAI's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle this data.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your waitlist entry at any time by emailing us at colabwithcreatebyte@gmail.com. We will remove your data promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the waitlist or app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
